Sindy has been teaching Tobacco Cessation classes for 10 years and is a Tobacco Treatment Specialist. One of her favorite quotes by a client is, “My doctor told me if I didn’t quit smoking, I’d be dead in ten years, or wish I was.” That client quit “cold turkey” and has been tobacco-free for over forty years. Sindy offers classes four times per year and holds a weekly support group every Thursday.

 

Sindy Hassig has been a Physical Therapist (PT) for over 20 years and quit smoking during her PT training. Her motivation to help others overcome their tobacco addictions came from watching both her mother and her grandmother ruin their health from smoking.

“My grandmother meant the world to me. She was only 66 when she died from emphysema, still sneaking cigarettes while she was on oxygen. My mother ruined her health by smoking as well. I really hate to see young people start smoking and try to help prevent this through education. I’m committed to helping people quit smoking, so that they can lead healthy, long lives with their loved ones.”
