Gwen is a former smoker who quit several times and finally "won" with the help of medication. She was invited to join in the tobacco treatment program in 1999 and has been passionate about helping others ever since.

"My favorite quote is from an older gentleman who announced to the quit class one evening, 'I've got it! I know the secret now. Once you've quit; just never have the first puff!' He condensed the whole process very nicely! Would that it be so easy!"

Laurie began her work in Tobacco Cessation in 2001. She came on board as a part-time data entry person and soon advanced to coaching and processing all client callbacks.  In 2006 she became certified with the State of Vermont which enabled her to counsel clients. Laurie’s passion to help others and create a smoke free world shines through everyday! Her sense of humor and fun-loving personality lightens the office mood when discouragement threatens the team spirit.

"My favorite story is of an old mountain man who carried black licorice, cut the size of cigarettes in his shirt pocket to successfully break the cigarette habit."

"My most heart-warming memory involves a handmade crocheted angel sent by a grateful client at her one year quit."

"I encourage everyone I contact, by phone, letter or in person to keep trying, never give up and one of these quits it will ' click ' and you’ll be smoke free."
